Today You Won

Today I wondered
What I’d done to survive this long.
How have I
Kept seeing blue skies?
Thoughts kept quiet,
Crept steadily forward.
You weren’t there
But I felt you at my back.
Your voice becomes
The beat to my degenerative drum.
Today, you won.

A Quote a Day Keeps the Doc Away

I’ve been tagged to do the 3 quotes challenge by Malakia┬áthank you! Her blog is lovely, go check it out.

Rules, always with the rules.
1.Thank the person who nominated you
2.Post a quote for 3 consecutive days
3.Nominate 3 bloggers

Quote 1: is probably the most cliche one.

The Buddha version is roughly translated as

Do today what must done. Tomorrow, who knows? Death may come.

It’s a piece of advice that threads it’s way through just about every religion, every medium … Tomorrow’s not guaranteed, don’t take today for granted.

I think it’s something we have to constantly remind ourselves of.

I’m not going to nominate anybody specific, anyone who reads this and would like to play along can.
